What is Stauf D 3-L?

Stauf D 3-L is a conductive dispersion adhesive specifically developed for bonding conductive textile and elastic floor coverings. This adhesive offers a universal application for various types of floor coverings, such as rubber floors, linoleum, PVC, and different types of carpets, including tufted carpets with latex or fleece backing, and needle felt. Stauf D 3-L is designed for use on various substrates, such as cement screeds, anhydrite screeds, chipboards, and OSB boards. The adhesive has high dimensional stability and a short airing time, making it quick and easy to apply. It is also suitable for use with underfloor heating and meets the requirements for castor chairs according to DIN 12592.

How does Stauf D 3-L work?

Stauf D 3-L is applied with a suitable tool, such as a notched trowel, on a prepared substrate. Ensure that no puddles or adhesive nests form during application. The floor covering should be laid within an open time of 5-15 minutes at 20°C and pressed down firmly or rubbed to avoid air bubbles. After 15-30 minutes, the floor covering should be pressed or rolled again to ensure optimal adhesion. For conductive systems, it is recommended to install copper conductive strips underneath the floor covering and connect them according to regulations to ensure effective conductivity.

Instructions for Use

Before applying Stauf D 3-L, the substrate must be checked and prepared according to DIN 18365 standards. The substrate must be clean, dry, dust-free, and free of cracks. Apply the adhesive evenly with a suitable notched trowel and avoid puddles or adhesive nests. Lay the floor covering within the open time of 5-15 minutes and press it down firmly. Pressing or rolling again after 15-30 minutes is recommended for optimal adhesion. For conductive installations, copper conductive strips should be centrally placed underneath the floor covering and soldered according to regulations, with connections for grounding by an electrician.

Maintenance and Advice

Stauf D 3-L has a shelf life of 9 months when stored in a dry, cool, and frost-free environment. Ensure that the adhesive is not exposed to frost during transport and storage. Always follow the floor covering manufacturer's instructions and the specific requirements of the construction site for installing conductive floors. For optimal performance, it is important to apply the adhesive within the recommended temperature and humidity limits.
