Stauf GS: Self-Leveling Compound Based on Calcium Sulfate

What is Stauf GS?

Stauf GS is a light-flowing self-leveling compound based on calcium sulfate (anhydrite), designed for leveling floors under elastic and textile floor coverings, as well as multilayer parquet. This compound provides a pore-free surface and has tension-reducing properties, making it ideal for applications requiring a smooth, stable substrate. Stauf GS is self-leveling and pumpable, allowing for easy and seamless application. The product can be used on various substrates such as cast asphalt, concrete, anhydrite screeds, wooden floors, and cement screeds. Stauf GS is also suitable for use on floors with underfloor heating.

How does Stauf GS work?

Stauf GS is mixed with water at a ratio of 6 liters of water per 25 kg of leveling compound. After mixing, a homogeneous, self-leveling mass is created that can be applied within a working time of 30 minutes. The compound is poured directly onto the floor and spread over an area of 2 x 2 meters using a rake or trowel. For even distribution and aeration, a spiked roller can be used. Stauf GS naturally forms a smooth surface without further mechanical distribution. The compound is walkable after about 3 hours at 20°C and fully ready for bonding after 24 hours (at a layer thickness of 3 mm).

Advantages and Properties

Stauf GS offers numerous advantages, such as a light-flowing and self-leveling action, a pore-free surface, and tension-reducing properties. This makes the product ideal for leveling floors under various coverings, including multilayer parquet. The compound is EC1 plus certified, meaning it is very low in emissions. Furthermore, Stauf GS is suitable for use on floors with underfloor heating, can be pumped, and is easy to process. The compound is suitable for layer thicknesses of 1-20 mm without aggregates and 11-30 mm with aggregates, making it versatile.

Instructions for Use

Before applying Stauf GS, the substrate must be checked and prepared according to DIN 18356 and DIN 18365 standards. Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, dust-free, and free of cracks. Mix the leveling compound with the correct amount of water and apply it within the specified working time. Spread the compound evenly with a rake or trowel and aerate with a spiked roller. The ambient temperature should be between 18°C and 25°C, with a maximum relative humidity of 75%. The compound must be protected from direct sunlight and drafts to ensure optimal curing.

Maintenance and Advice

Stauf GS has a shelf life of 9 months when stored in dry and cool conditions. The product must be transported dry and should not be exposed to moisture. Regularly check environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity during application to ensure optimal performance. For specific applications, such as applying a second layer or using it on special substrates, it is advisable to consult technical data sheets or contact an expert. Ensure that the maximum layer thickness is not exceeded for the best results.
