Bona Mega: Advanced Waterborne Finish for Diverse Wooden Floors
Introduction to Bona Mega
Transform your wooden floors with Bona Mega, a sophisticated waterborne finish designed for both residential and commercial spaces. Ideal for environments with moderate foot traffic, this single-component solution behaves like a two-component finish, thanks to its innovative oxygen-crosslinking formula. From plank flooring to floors with underfloor heating, Bona Mega delivers exceptional durability while ensuring low indoor emissions, verified by GreenGuard certification.
Application and Performance
Bona Mega forms a tough, protective layer that shields floors from everyday wear and tear, scuffs, and chemical exposure. Ready for use straight from the container, this finish requires no mixing or thinning, making application straightforward. Use a Bona Microfleece Roller to apply, covering approximately 8-10 m² per litre. The finish dries within 2-3 hours for recoating, achieving full hardness in about 7 days. Ensure a well-ventilated area and maintain a "wet edge" during application to avoid lap marks.
Benefits and Key Features
Bona Mega is prized for its ease of use and robust protection. It's effective on floors with underfloor heating and reduces the risk of edge-bonding. Certified for low emissions, it adheres to European standards for fire reaction and toy safety. Available in finishes from extra matte to high gloss, it caters to diverse aesthetic preferences.
Maintenance Tips
Limit application to two full coats per day to manage wood expansion. Quickly clean up spills to prevent staining. Regular use of Bona cleaning products will maintain the finish's integrity. Be cautious with plasticisers and materials like rubber tyres, which can cause permanent discolouration. Use protective pads where necessary.
