This adhesive is specially designed for bonding both finished and unfinished wooden floors to various substrates such as sand-cement screeds, marble, gravel, tiles, and ceramics. The adhesive is also compatible with underfloor heating and cooling, making it a versatile solution for various flooring installations. Blue Dolphin BD111 has sound-reducing properties, providing a quieter floor environment, especially when bonding multi-layer boards to sand-cement screeds, with a sound reduction of -11 dB.

How the product works

Blue Dolphin BD111 works by creating a strong, elastic bond between the floor and the substrate, without the need for additional mixing, thanks to the one-component formula. The product dries by exposure to humidity and forms a flexible yet firm bond upon full curing that can accommodate the natural movement of wooden floors without breaking. The maximum open time of the adhesive is one hour, and full curing occurs within 36 to 48 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Applying the adhesive requires an ambient temperature between +15°C and +25°C, and the use of a notched trowel number 5 for optimal distribution.

Instructions for use

When using Blue Dolphin BD111, it is essential to prepare the substrate properly. The subfloor must be dry, crack-free, level, and clean. For cement subfloors, the maximum humidity should not exceed 2%, or 1.7% for underfloor heating. For anhydrite subfloors, the values are 0.5% and 0.2%, respectively. When bonding to glazed substrates such as ceramics or polished marble, the surface must be thoroughly degreased and sanded for good adhesion. The use of Blue Dolphin Bonding Improver can make sanding unnecessary. The adhesive should be evenly distributed so that at least 65% of the floor parts are in direct contact with the adhesive for optimal adhesion.
