Stauf D 37: High-Quality Dispersion Flooring and Contact Adhesive
What is Stauf D 37?
Stauf D 37 is a high-quality dispersion flooring and contact adhesive, suitable for various floor coverings such as rubber floors, PVC design floors (LVT), CV floors, tufted carpets, and latex-backed woven fabrics. This adhesive offers a wide range of applications and can be used for both wet bonding and contact bonding. With an exceptionally long open time and low consumption, Stauf D 37 ensures efficient processing and reliable adhesion. The product is well-suited for a wide range of substrates, including concrete walls, anhydrite screeds, wood, chipboard, cement screeds, and more. The adhesive is available in 6 kg and 14 kg buckets and has a shelf life of 9 months when stored under the right conditions.
How does Stauf D 37 work?
Stauf D 37 can be applied in various ways: as a wet adhesive or as a contact adhesive. For wet bonding, the adhesive is applied with a suitable notched trowel, and the floor covering can be laid within 30 minutes. For contact bonding, the adhesive is applied to both the substrate and the floor covering. Once the adhesive has dried sufficiently to a tacky state, the two surfaces are pressed together firmly. The laying time ranges from 5 to 80 minutes, depending on the method and environmental conditions. The floor covering is load-bearing after 24 hours, and joints can be finished after 48 hours. The adhesive provides high final strength and is suitable for underfloor heating and applications with chair casters.
Benefits and Features
Stauf D 37 is distinguished by its long open time, providing more flexibility during installation. The product offers strong initial tack and high final strength, making it suitable for both light and heavy applications. The adhesive is easy to process, with low viscosity and good spreadability, and is also applicable on substrates with underfloor heating. Stauf D 37 has low emissions and meets the EC1 plus standard, making it environmentally friendly. The adhesive should be stored frost-free, dry, and cool, and remains stable for 9 months in a well-sealed container.
Instructions for Use
Before processing Stauf D 37, the substrate must be carefully prepared according to DIN 18365. The substrate must be dry, clean, level, and free from cracks or other irregularities. For wet bonding, the adhesive is applied with a notched trowel, and the floor covering is laid within the open time. For contact bonding, the adhesive is evenly applied with a roller to both the substrate and the floor covering, and the surfaces are bonded when the adhesive is transparent and tacky. It is important to press the floor covering firmly and remove air bubbles for optimal adhesion.
Maintenance or Advice
For optimal adhesion and durability, it is important to apply Stauf D 37 at an ambient temperature of at least 18 °C and a humidity of no more than 75%. The adhesive should be stored in a frost-free, dry, and cool environment to maintain quality. When using the adhesive, follow the flooring manufacturer's instructions. Additionally, substrates that are prone to cracking or holes should be leveled with a suitable Stauf product. Ensure a clean, dust-free, and solid substrate for the best result.
