Stauf D 22 HV: Dispersion Wall Covering Adhesive for Various Substrates
What is Stauf D 22 HV?
Stauf D 22 HV is a high-quality dispersion wall covering adhesive, specifically developed for a wide range of floor coverings and substrates. This adhesive is particularly suitable for applications with tufted carpets, CV floors, needle felt, PVC floors, and woven materials, including latex-backed coconut and sisal. The product is characterized by its high viscosity and very good initial adhesion, making it ideal for professional use on various substrates such as concrete walls, wood, chipboard, and plasterboard. Thanks to its short ventilation time and fast curing, Stauf D 22 HV can be applied efficiently, resulting in a durable and reliable bond. The adhesive is available in a 15 kg plastic bucket and has a shelf life of 9 months if stored in a frost-free, dry, and cool environment.
How does Stauf D 22 HV work?
Stauf D 22 HV works by creating a strong bond between the floor covering and the substrate. The adhesive is applied with a suitable notched trowel, with the recommended consumption depending on the trowel notch (2 or 1). After a short airing time of 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and humidity, the floor covering can be laid within the laying time of 5 to 20 minutes and pressed firmly. The fully bonded surfaces become load-bearing after 24 hours, and joints can be welded after at least 48 hours. It is essential to ensure that the substrate is well-prepared, dust-free, dry, and sufficiently rough for optimal adhesion.
Benefits and Features
Stauf D 22 HV offers several benefits and features that make it an excellent choice for professional flooring. The adhesive has a particularly high initial tack and is resistant to aging, ensuring long-lasting durability. The product requires only a short airing time, making it suitable for quick installation projects. Additionally, it is easy to apply and provides excellent adhesion on a wide range of substrates such as concrete, wood, plasterboard, and more. The cream color of the adhesive makes it less visible when applied under transparent or light-colored floor coverings.
Instructions for Use
Before using Stauf D 22 HV, it is important to properly prepare the substrate according to the applicable standards (DIN 18365). This means that the substrate must be dry, clean, level, and free of dust and other contaminants. The adhesive is evenly applied with a notched trowel, and after the specified airing time, the floor covering is laid within the laying time and pressed firmly. For elastic floor coverings with a fleece backing, the ventilation and laying times must be precisely followed. After 15-30 minutes, the floor covering should be pressed or rolled again with force.
Maintenance or Advice
For the optimal lifespan and adhesion of Stauf D 22 HV, it is important to maintain the correct storage and transport conditions. The adhesive should be stored frost-free, dry, and cool. When applying the adhesive, an ambient temperature of at least 18 °C and a humidity of a maximum of 75% are recommended. Always check the suitability of the substrate and follow the flooring manufacturer's recommendations. Ensure that any cracks or joints in the substrate are repaired with STAUF casting resin and that the subfloor is well leveled before laying the floor covering.
