Kerakoll Active Prime Fix

Kerakoll Active Prime Fix is a fast-drying, universal bonding primer on a water basis, specially developed to improve the adhesion of self-leveling compounds, cement-based adhesives, leveling compounds, and plasters. This 1-component primer is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and offers excellent compatibility with absorbent and non-absorbent substrates. Active Prime Fix ensures maximum adhesion and extends the workability of leveling compounds, making it ideal for preparing substrates before further treatments are applied.

Kerakoll Active Prime Fix works by preparing the substrate for further finishes, such as the application of leveling compounds and mineral adhesives. The primer penetrates deeply into the substrate and reduces and regulates the absorption of porous substrates, while also neutralizing the chemical expansion reaction of gypsum- and anhydrite-based substrates. Before use, the product should be briefly shaken. Depending on the substrate, Active Prime Fix can be applied undiluted or diluted with water in different ratios to ensure optimal adhesion. It dries quickly and forms a strong base for further treatments.

Kerakoll Active Prime Fix offers numerous advantages. The product has high fluidity and strong fixing properties, making it suitable for both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates. It dries quickly, minimizing the waiting time between applications. Additionally, it strengthens the surface of powdery substrates and reduces the absorption of porous substrates, improving the workability of leveling compounds. Active Prime Fix is environmentally friendly, with very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC), and is ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Before use, the substrate should be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as oil, grease, dust, and loose particles. For non-absorbent substrates, it is sufficient to briefly shake the product and then apply it evenly with a roller or block brush. For absorbent substrates, Active Prime Fix can be diluted with clean water in different ratios (e.g., 1:3 for highly porous substrates) to achieve deeper penetration. Wait 30 to 60 minutes until the primer is fully cured before performing further work.

For optimal adhesion, it is recommended to check the moisture content of the substrate before applying Active Prime Fix. Ensure the primer is fully dry before performing further treatments. The primer can be removed with water before it hardens; once hardened, it can only be removed mechanically. Do not use the product on wet substrates, substrates with rising damp, or surfaces sensitive to large dimensional changes. Store the product in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
